🧧 Chinese New Year Poetry 🧨

  • This year, it seems you were always on the road —

from Valencia’s sunlight to Scotland’s highlands,

from Kyoto’s shrines to Suzhou’s gardens.

You wandered long through history’s hall,

heard ancient footsteps in the wall,

and in Van Gogh’s small quiet room

asked where time is going to bloom.

With painted thoughts and restless art

    you raised bright chambers of the heart;

you filled your pack with wonder —

the world itself your only guide.

    Across earth’s wildness you ran,

    seeking pattern, shaping span,

    kindling lanterns in the unknown,

    bridging darkness into dawn.

    In the coming year,

may your thinking eyes stretch the measure of the heart’s deep will,

may your diligent hands shape hopes into wings and create the miracus,

may your rolling feet explore the unknown ground,

where hidden paths and futures are found.

Carry forward the dreams of ages untold, water the springtime you shelter and hold, till branches billow in leaf and in air, till blossoms spill starlight everywhere — their fragrance drifting through centuries long.

And within this newborn realm of days, may we step into the forms we praise, living at last, unafraid, unconfined, as the selves we once dreamed in the mind. 🌻
